Privacy Policy

Camel ("the App") is a macOS menu bar application developed and operated under the Camel name. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Camel is designed with privacy as a default. The App processes all clipboard text locally on your device — your clipboard content is never transmitted to any server.

The only information that may leave your device:

• Feedback submissions. If you choose to send feedback through the in-app feedback form, your message and a randomly generated anonymous installation identifier are sent to our secure feedback server. No personal information is required or collected during this process.
• Subscription and purchase data. All purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the Mac App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details. Apple's Privacy Policy governs those transactions.
• Crash reports. If you have opted in to share diagnostics with Apple, anonymized crash reports may be shared with us through Apple's standard developer diagnostics program.

2. Clipboard Data

Camel reads your clipboard content to display and transform it. This data is processed entirely on your Mac. It is stored locally in memory for the duration of your session and is never uploaded, logged, or shared with any third party.

Saved Snippets are stored locally in your macOS user account using standard macOS storage mechanisms.

3. How We Use Information

• To operate and improve the App.
• To respond to feedback you submit.
• To diagnose and fix crashes or bugs (via anonymized Apple diagnostics data).

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

Feedback messages are retained only as long as necessary to address your inquiry and improve the App, typically no more than 12 months. Anonymous installation identifiers associated with feedback may be retained longer for de-duplication purposes.

5. Children's Privacy

Camel is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the App, please contact us so we can delete it.

6. Third-Party Services

The feedback feature uses a secure backend service (Supabase) to receive and store feedback messages. Supabase processes data in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.

All App Store transactions are handled by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information.

7. Your Rights

Because Camel collects minimal personal data, there is little to act on. However, you may:

• Request deletion of any feedback message you have submitted by contacting us.
• Opt out of sharing diagnostics with Apple in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the limited data we handle. Feedback is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored securely.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
